If you're looking to improve safety at your workplace, you might want to take stock of your leadership style.

That's the message from Dr. Richard D. Fulwiler, president of Technology Leadership Associates and a noted expert on safety.

Fulwiler adds that the keys to this type of leadership involve listening, communication, caring, taking a collegial approach and engaging workers as true partners in the enterprise.

In the video interview below, Dr. Fulwiler tells EHS Contributing Editor Andy Friedman what safety leaders can do to get started on the transformational leadership path, especially if they're reticent to take this highly personal approach or if they're just plain busy with their "day jobs."
