The past week or so has finally felt like winter for me. There’s snow on the ground, soup is on the stove and a quietness has settled in. It seems that Mother Nature is telling me to hush and rest. I need to make more of an effort to do so.
I was gifted a 5-year daily journal. I must say that it has added a surprising element of structure to my day. I’m starting to understand why so many mindfulness coaches and experts recommend a gratitude practice. It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day without celebrating or reflecting on the day’s accomplishments. I have two days to catch up on; it’s still a habit I’m building and also I’ve been too tired to be coherent at the end of the night.
January is finally (or already, depending on your perspective) coming to a close. With that in mind, I checked our web traffic to see what you all were enjoying. Maybe you find something you meant to read, something you missed and something that gives you pause.
I suggest that after reading you spend some time journaling or reflecting on how to make this the best year yet. It’s still January, so embrace the new year, new optimism, new possibility while you still can.
Until next time, be safe, be well and stay warm!
