Burnt Out: Stress on the Job [Infographic]

Between 60 and 80 percent of workplace accidents are the result of stress-induced issues.

Stress at work not only impacts employee health, but also affects workplace safety.

Between 60 and 80 percent of workplace accidents are the result of stress-induced issues like distraction, according to an infographic created by Eastern Kentucky University to highlight the toll stress is taking on the U.S. workforce.

Stress manifests itself in a variety of troubling physical and psychological ways – fatigue, headache, upset stomach, muscle tension, appetite changes, teeth grinding, dizziness, irritability/anger, nervousness and lack of energy – all of which can impact an employee’s ability to safely perform a job.
